Virgin Islands Representative in COTECC Board

 Last June, in the Annual Meeting of the Confederación de Tenis de Centro America y del Caribe (COTECC) a new board of directors was elected with the result of both of our districts represented in this organism.

On this election, William McComb from the U.S. Virgin Islands, became the new Second Vicepresident of COTECC, while Rosa M. Martinez, Executive Director of the Asociación de Tenis de Puerto Rico (PRTA), was named president of the sub region #3 that represents the Greater Antilles. She is the first woman to obtain a position in the Board. Also the president of the PRTA, Hector Cabrera, was also elected as Director.

For second consecutive term, Persio Maldonado - head of the Dominican Tennis Federation - was elected as the President of the Confederation, by the 21 representatives from different countries who attended the meeting. José Antonio Flores was also assigned to the Mexican sub region, Rafael Arévalo for Central America, Jermille Danclar for the eastern Caribbean and Carlos Bravo of Costa Rica was elected as First Vicepresident.

COTECC is one of the six regions of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), and is composed of 32 countries in Central America and the Caribbean, as well as the South American countries Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname.
