On November 11, a staff of the Caribbean Section took a tour to St. Thomas V.I. as part of our courts rehabilitation plan and tennis program optimization. Some of the facilities visited were: University Virgin Islands, St. Thomas – Westside Tennis Club, Sub Base – St. Thomas racquet Club, Charlotte Amalia High School, Flamboyan Resort, Sugar Ray Beach Resort, Sapphire Beach Resort, St.Thomas Yacht Club, Anchorage Condominium, Cowpet Bay, Ritz Carlton St. Thomas,V.I. Community Tennis Complex and The Shops Haven Harbor.

As we can see St. Thomas has many courts and we could see that there is an effort to bring back the tennis on the island, where many have court recovery works while others were totally destroyed after the passage of Hurricane Maria.

On the following day, November 12, we organized an information booth of the programs that we offer. We give tools, workbooks and teach the different stages of mini tennis as part of the Funday organized by the Virgin Islands Tennis Association where Monica Carrasquillo (Tennis Service Representative east & V.I.) served as a guest speaker, in the activity developed on the Sub Base Tennis Courts.

In this activity, people of all ages participated, played and hit the ball, proving that "Tennis is a sport of a lifetime"

We hope to continue bringing events to the Island. We want that the programs become massive, and that the adults and youth leagues return to normality, it is hard and difficult but we will work for it.
